Each week we introduce one of the keynote speakers for the ENIS/MIDA Summer School “Spoken Images of/in Islam,” which takes place from 5-9 July 2021.
Dr. Ali Sonay works at the Institute for Islamic Studies and Modern Oriental Philology at the University of Bern. His research interests are media systems in Morocco, Tunisia and Turkey, Technological change and the societies in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA region), Social movements in the MENA region, Modern history of ideas in the MENA region and Sufism.
